The XEO Housing Authority (XEO) is helping bring residents closer together with a new series of simple, fun, and welcoming community events.

The goal is easy: help neighbors connect, feel supported, and build a stronger sense of community right where they live.

Over the past few weeks, XEO has started hosting small gatherings like family nights, outdoor activities, and casual meet-and-greets. These events give residents a chance to spend time together, share ideas, and get to know one another in a relaxed setting.

“We want our communities to feel like home,” said XEO Supportive Housing Specialist Matthew Parker. “When people know their neighbors, everything feels a little safer and a lot more connected.”

Residents of all ages are encouraged to join. Kids can enjoy games and activities, while adults can learn about helpful resources or simply take time to talk with others in the community.

Many residents say the events have already made a difference. “It’s nice to see everyone visiting and talking,” one resident shared. “You start to recognize people and feel more comfortable.”

XEO is also using these events to share helpful information about programs, services, and opportunities available to residents—making it easier for everyone to stay informed.

More events are planned in the coming months, and XEO hopes even more residents will join in.
